What Do Pain And Swelling On The Balls Of The Feet Indicate?

I am having a lot of pain and slight swelling of the balls of my feet next to my toes. The three middle toes feel slightly cold and like they are going numb. This only happens when I do my walking or when I am on my feet all day. What is your diagnosis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

For the condition that you have mentioned, please check your blood sugar levels, as long standing Diabetes Mellitus (DM) can cause this.

Other cause could be soft tissue injury due to peristent standing position. Take rest in between work or standing and use smooth slipper like MCR, take analgesic for pain and hot water therapy may also help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manjunath J.V.
