What Do Pain And Swelling In The Left Foot Indicate?
i slipped on the ice 8 days ago - had x rays done on my left foot the top center of my foot hurts and as i walk the third metarsal . center bone hurts so does the bone structure end of middle metarsals applying preasure hurts . my doctor saw no bone break . can you sprain your forefoot bone structure . mild swelling - no visable bruses. i am unclear how i landed, side to side up and down motion hurts. what could be my problem
As per your history and as a physician, I think you may have hairline fracture as you are unable to walk and swelling also present. But you have done x-ray and there is no bone break. Then, pain is because of sprain.
I will also suggest you to review here with detailed history or consult with the orthopedician and do regular follow up. Do strapping of foot after orthopedic consultation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shyam B. Kale

What Do Pain And Swelling In The Left Foot Indicate?
Hello, As per your history and as a physician, I think you may have hairline fracture as you are unable to walk and swelling also present. But you have done x-ray and there is no bone break. Then, pain is because of sprain. I will suggest you to take tablet Zerodol SP, apply diclofenac gel or Volini spray locally. I will also suggest you to review here with detailed history or consult with the orthopedician and do regular follow up. Do strapping of foot after orthopedic consultation. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shyam B. Kale
