What Do Light Blood Discharge With Irregular Bowel Movement Post Menopause Suggest?

I have not had my period for almost two years. I thought I was in menopause. But now I have been seeing some light blood when I wipe after urinating. Is this normal? Also, I have been having some irregular bowel movements. Either they don t come, I have to strain, or it comes like loose bowels.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There can be mild period like bleeding after menopause. This can be normal. But better to have a pelvic examination by Gynecologist and ultrasound to know exact status of uterus. Infections or hormonal imbalance can be a possibility also. These should be ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
