Hi. I have a porencephalic cyst which was found in 2000, at the age of 17, when I was initially diagnosed with bipolar. Over the last 18 months, I have had complete lack of spatial awareness, my entire brain shut itself down , I have been unable to both take in, interepret and follow conversations, my short term memory has been functioning like that of a goldfish. I have also been finding very difficult to cook and I can not remember for the life of me, how to use our DVD/ USB system. My bones ache, my muscles spasm and my head is always in a bad way. My housemate has been an amazing support and I am very grateful. I ve just had an MRI this week and the report talks about gliosis, atrophy of the left cerebral peduncle + the anterolateral aspect of the pons on the left consistent with wallerian degeneration. Could you explain what this means please? As a side note, I also have slight cerebral palsy down my my right side, due to the fact that I stopped breathing in the humidity crib and I was six weeks early. Born in 1983; Currently 32. Many Thanks, I really appreciate it Kind Regards, Kate
