Upper Oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) helps to identify the degree of gastritis, involvement of the esophagus and duodenum. Infective pathology can also be identified by OGD scopy. Lifestyle modification, healthy diet and medications helps to manage gastritis and GERD. Oil free diet, non caffeine, non spicy food, low fat diet are the best diet option. Proton pump inhibitors or H2 receptor blockers, antacids and anti-emetics are the medications commonly prescribed for gastritis and Gastroesophageal reflux disease.
