What Do Episodes Of Grimacing And Tightening Of Facial Skin Indicate?

Hi,I ve had episodes since a child of facial grimacing. Seemed to wan for what seemed like years but I ve noticed moments of it again. Everything tightens,mouth wide and hold my breath.no clear thoughts at the time just seems to relieve,like accomplishing something. I m 54 now. Thank you for your thoughts

It could be some Neuro muscular disorders may be like tics or hemisphere fascial spasm.
You can consult a neurologist and get evaluated. An MRI scan may be needed to rule out any involvement of brain. If it’s free of symptoms or doesn’t cause any problem to your routine activities, no treatment is required.
In severe cases drugs like muscle relaxers may be needed.
