Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I know I have a heart problem but I have been getting dizzy the few months a lot more than normal. I have been to my heart doctor three times in the last two weeks. they said me being dizzy has nothing to do with my heart problem. today I got very weird feeling and my mom who is a nurse put that thing on my finger and my heart rate was 258. I told them I wasn t going to the hospital. I know it was beating really hard but is 258 a real number for a heart beat. My email is YYYY@YYYY
hello! Dizziness in your case may be related to decreased blood supply to your brain. Erroneously increased heart rate may be a dysfunctional reading of pulse oximetry or more worse it could be due to ventricular tachyarrhythmia , a heart circuit problem . In my patients I would do a EKG at the earliest to find out the underlying problem. If facilities are available , visit a cardiologist and get ECHO done. Regards
