What Do Demyelination And Mucosal Thickening Seen In The Right Mastoid Air Cells In A Brain MRI Indicate?

MRI brain w/o contrast impression: small hypertense foci in the white matter of bilateral high frontal lobes. findings are non specific and differential diagnosis includes diffuse axonal injury ischemia, demyelination and /or migraine.2. Fluid/mucosal thickening is seen in the right mastoid air cells - possible mastoiditis. What does all this mean can you please explain.

Hello,

Brain cells always myelinated. In this case, there is demyelination is there may be due to blood supply block lead to ischemia or inflammation lead to demyelination or infection lead to demyelination or injury to head lead to demyelination.

Until clinical examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. So please consult your neuro physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
