What Do Delayed Periods Along With Abdominal Cramps Indicate?
Hi there, Im after some advice or perhaps some insight into what may be going on with me. I have endometriosis and had a laparoscopy in November. I am not on any contraceptive and have been trying to conceive. My period is currently 5 days late with most symptoms of pregnancy, especially abdominal cramping (much like period pain) although not as bad... I have not experienced sore breasts however, I have just tested negative to pregnancy on two tests. My doctor is not available until February 6th.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Would like to tell you that symptoms you are experiencing do sound like of pregnancy. Cramping abdominal pain also occurs during placentation. But since you have tested negative for pregnancy test twice it is unlikely that you are pregnant.
In most cases pregnancy test comes positive at least 7-10 days after a missed period. Although it is advisable that you get a USG abdomen done as it is the only absolute method of diagnosing a pregnancy.
I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
Regards, Dr. Nazma.amman
