What Do Black Particles In Vomit Indicate?

I have a severe stomach bug. Diarrhea all day and vomiting. I ve noticed black dots like pepper each time I throw up but I don t use pepper and haven t eaten anything since 10pm last night and that was popcorn. Are the black dots a sign of anything serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear welcome to hcm.

Yes black dots in vomit could be blood. Acid in stomach digests blood, and digested blood appears black. You need to take a sample of your vomit. Take a injection of antacid (pantoperazole) and anti vomit (perinorm) urgently. Hydrate your self by intravenous fluids and water once vomiting stops. Send your vomit sample to lab. If it is blood meet a gastroenterologist.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to hcm for follow up queries. I wish you rapid recovery. Hit a thanks. Thank you.
