hi doc last month I noticed black lesions around my vulva I consulted a gyna around my area whereby he examined me and said it could be t.v cells he prescribed the following drugs riclofenac .dazolic travocort cream oraflex and pessaries I have completed the dose today but the black lesions are still itchy but the burning sensation I was feeling when taking a pee is gone.my issue is what causes the black lesions and is it cancerous in a way am so worried please help .thanks.
I see some cases among my patient who visit my clinic. In the first meeting, I advise my patients to take a skin biopsy in order to detect the cancer.
As for treatment, surgery is often necessary to remove all cancerous tissue. Surgery may consist of extensive local excision (excision of the cancer and a normal-appearing skin area around it) or vulvectomy (removal of the vulva, including the vagina and clitoris). The type of treatment will depend on how advanced the cancer is. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy may be used to treat more severe forms of cancer.
Kind regards,
Dr. Oscar Martinez
