What Do MRI Showing Secondary Osteoarthritis At Ankle And Cystic Lesion In Talus Mean?
I am 61 year old female . MRI of right Ankle. 1 secondary osteoarthritis changes at ankle 3rd , 4th Tarsometatarsal joints . Cortical erosions affecting various articular surfaces . 2 cystic lesion in talus( suspected introsseous ganglion). 3 chronic heald ligament tears at ankle( superficial medial , lateral and anterior ligaments)

The MRI of ankle joint shows age related changes in the form of osteoarthritis and erosion of articular surfaces. In addition, there are tears in surrounding ligaments of ankle joint. The ligament repair can take place to an extent with immobilization. However, the age related changes cannot be reversed.
