What Diet Should Be Followed While Suffering From Esophagitis And Osteopenia?

What is the suggested diet for someone with esophogitis and osteopenia, taking 60 mg of omeprazole per day and calcitonin salmon. My Dr. wants me to switch to Forteo, however the monthly cost is prohibitive. I m a 73 year old female with no diabetes, weight or blood pressure issues. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As you have esophagitis, so along with the tablet Omeprazole, take the soft diet. Avoid hot and spicy foods. Drink lot of water or fluids. Try to avoid non-vegetarian foods. Don't sleep immediately after the food. Take food rich in calcium like ragi, milk products.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
