Hello User,
I read your query,
You need to follow a certain diet before going through
colonoscopy. Though there is no standard protocol, but do remember the do s and dont s .
Diet ahead of colonoscopy differs according to the time you have ahead of the procedure.
Three days ahead of the procedure you can definitely have solid , low fibre food. I am giving you a list of some such foods:
1. Milk and dairy products:Milk , cream hot chocolate, sour cream
2.Breads and grains made with refined white flour. Puffed rice and
corn flakes can also be included
3.Meat-Chicken, Lamb, Fish and sea food, Tofu,Eggs
4. LEGUMES are not allowed in the diet
5.Fruit juice without Pulp and canned vegetables without skin can be taken.
Amongst foods which you should avoid are:
1.Yoghurt mixed with nuts, seeds, Fruits with skin or seeds
2.Avoid whole grains or high fibre cereals
3.Dried peas, dried beans , legumes,lentils
4.Corn, tomatoes, Cucumbers with seeds are to be skipped
5.No nuts and seeds (not even in salad dressings)
Now you should remember that one day before the procedure and on the the day of procedure as well, you should be on a complete clear
liquid diet. Stay away from solid foods until after the procedure.
Now ,you can comfortably have liquids the list of which i am providing below:
1. water
