What Could The Hole In The Leg Muscle Be After Trauma?

I was kicked in the left leg just below the knee. The blow came from the front. There is swelling and bruising but also, at the point of impact, it feels as though there is a hole in the muscle. It feels like a soft spot. I have compared this to my other leg which is fine and there is an obvious difference. What is the hole ?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

Feeling of hole might be due to weakening in muscle or associated muscle spasm.
1. Do hot fomatation at the site.
2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day.
3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation.
4. Strengthening exercises will be helpful.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
