What Could Squeezing Feeling In Heart After Lifting Heavy Weights Indicate?

I develop a squeezing feeling in my heart after lifting something heavy or exercising extensively. The squeezing feeling lasts for several days afterward. Is this an impending heart attack or pulled upper respiratory or nothing to worry about? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The squeezing feeling in your heart after exercising could be a symptom of a condition known as exercise-induced myocardial ischemia, which is a reduction in blood flow to the heart muscle during physical activity. If this happens repeatedly, it could indicate a more serious underlying heart condition, such as coronary artery disease. You should consult a doctor for a proper evaluation and determine any underlying severe health issues.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
