What Could Sharp Pain In Back Radiating To Chest Indicate?
I m a 25 year old female. 5 6 150 lbs. I ve been having a sharp pain in the left side of my back since I woke up this morning. It hurts whenever I breathe or move my left arm. It radiates to the left side of my chest a little bit. The pain is mostly in my back though. On a scale of 1 to 10, I d call it an 8 when inhaling and a 3 when exhaling. I haven t done anything strenuous and I work a desk job. My throat hurts a little bit and I am hot one second and then cold the next. I m not sure if I have a fever or anything. My insurance is less than great so if I m able to avoid the doctor, that would be awesome.
* As per my clinical experience, the sharp pain in back with radiation to chest with 1 of 10 intensity may be in concern with acute ligament spasm and secondary changes.
My guidelines at present
- local application of heating pad
- use of local analgesic spray or ointment with diclofenac, capsaicin cream
- analgesic as ibuprofen with antacid after meals
* Follow up after 2 days or early as per the need.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
