What Could Severe Cough With Vomiting Suggest?

I have flu like symptoms and a bad hacking cough. I have felt like being sick all day and have not eaten anything since 10 hrs ago. I have just thrown up and it was grey in colour - do I need to go to the doctor or is this just a bug I have picked up?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe cough with vomiting along with flu like symptoms which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. It is due to poor immunity of body and sometimes due to increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take cough expectorants and throat lozenges. Apply mist humidifiers in room. You should take proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. You should maintain oral hygiene. Do warm saline gargles.
