She was diagnosed with having a uti, so she was put on Cipro. Everytjing cleared up but several days later, the tightness and ugre to pee came back . A month later and another round at Cipro, symptoms still there. Culture revealed no trace of bacteria...what is causing this urethra pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

I recommend an ultrasound examination KUB and of her abdomen and pelvis. Along with this an STD-panel should be conducted, we need to look for and find other causes for the burning sensation and recurrent infections. Please revisit your doctor with a request for the above mentioned investigations.

Best wishes.
