What Could Rapid Heart Rate During Mitral Valve Prolapse Suggest?

I have hashimoto disease as well as MVP, which was diagnosed when I was born. I ve started experiencing rapid heart rate the last year and times of very hard heartbeats at times. I saw my cardiologist, who didn t seem concerned but I am. Should I be worried and see another cardiologist or not be concerned?

Hi,

Transient increase in heart rate can happen many times and it does not indicate any disease condition. If you are experiencing persistently high heart rate, you can consult a cardiologist and get evaluated.Serial ECG monitoring may be required.

Hope I have answered your query.
