What Could Persistent Diarrhea With Heightened Sense Of Smell Indicate?

Suffering acute diarhora, no vomiting, for 4 days, accompanied by heightened sense of smell causing unpleasant rec Actions to previously enjoyable ones, whether face creams, perfume or food. Saw a Dr yesterday who suggested a stool sample for testing, looking for food poisoning. Can you help? Barbara

I really appreciate your concern, symptoms of diarrhea could be due to bacillary dysentery and it can be well managed with "Tab Doxycycline 100 mg" twice in day for five days this is just tentative treatment and fails to work then stool need to be examined hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
