What Could Hoarse Voice With Cough In Children Suggest?
Okay I have a question concerning my newborn, well more than one. Okay so I know my son has thrush and they said it s perfectly normal so you know whatever. But now he has a hoarse voice + a cough and he s super fussy even though I just fed him, burped him and changed his diaper. But he s not running a fever and I think he might have reflux also. So I m rather worried and I m wondering if I m overreacting or not. And if I should take him to the hospital or not. So please let me know. I m worried
Hi thank you for choosing healthcare magic. It is quite common that some kids are fussy than others. If he is having colic type of pain regularily try to decrease spice in your diet if you are breastfeeding and you can give simethicone containing drops to settle them. If they cannot be consoled by you and he is crying persistantly kindly get him checked to rule out any ear or urinary infection. For his reflux you can try simple measures like feeding in upright position, burping after every feed and keeping head end elevated by atleast 30 deg during sleep. Hope this has been helpful to you, kindly feel free to contact again for any queries. Kindly rate the answer if so. Take care. Dr J Sravanthi,
