What Could Frequent Urination With Burning And Blood In Urine Mean?

Since last night I've been feeling like I need to pee, however, when I go to the toilet only a tiny bit comes out with a little bit of blood too. I started taking the contraceptive pill around 10 days ago and I know that spotting can be very common, however, this is more like peeing blood and I'm unsure whether it's something to do with the fact I feel as though I always need to pee and the burning/pressure sensation I feel after I do pee or whether the two things are unrelated and just happened to happen at the same time?

Nephrologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are consistent with urinary tract infection and the majority of patients with urinary tract infection presents with increased frequency of scanty micturition and sometimes passing blood. However, the stone disease can’t be ruled out.

Consult urologist/nephrologist for further therapy and they will advise you complete urine examination, urine culture, and ultrasound abdomen. Meanwhile, take plenty of water (3-4 ltr/day) and sour fruits like citrus, oranges. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
