What Could Diarrhea With Severe Cramping And Blood In Stools Indicate?

Yes thank you - I have had diarrhea since last night with severe cramping. I just went to the bathroom and blood came out when I was having a bowel movement. What could be the cause of this? I am 60 yr old female and have never had any kind of issue. I had a colonoscopy 6 years ago and it was fine. Am scheduled for another one in September, but didn t know if I should see my doctor before then. Please advise.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
After going through your description, it appears that you might be having amoebic dysentery.
Kindly take Secnidazole forte two tablets at one shot after food. Drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated.
In case, your symptoms doesn't subside, kindly visit your doctor and seek opinion.
All the best.
