What Could Chronic Headache On One Side Of The Head Suggest?

I have this headaches on one side of head sometimes its on both but rarely. I m 14 years old I started getting headaches like this when my head smash into the car door and hit my right temple when I was 11. When I have these headaches they get stronger and its moves to the back of my head. Also my vision gets a little blurry but I do wear glasses so it could be that.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to migraine attacks.

But the fact that your have had a head concussion and the unilateral occurrence of headaches, raises suspicions of possible brain lesion related to your headaches.

I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and perform a bran MRI to exclude a possible brain lesion.

If the brain MRI results normal, there is nothing to worry about.

You should discuss with your doctor on the possibility of starting a preventive therapy like propranolol or verapamil.

Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Aida
