What Could Cause Muscle Contraction Above The Knee?

What kind of injury causes the muscle directly above my knee to contract or tense up when I stand. I also have fluid on my knee. However, I can still bend my knee. The pain level is about a 4 and only hurts for a little while. Once I take 4 or 5 steps the tensing eases up.

Hello

The real problem is the water accumulated inside the knee cap. This makes difficult for the muscles to stretch when getting up.

So should treat this accumulated water adequately.

Take magnesium and calcium supplement to was muscle spasms.

Do follow up with orthopedic doctor regularly.

All the best.
