What Could Cause Lump Below Knee Cap?

Hi. I have a lump on the bone below my kneecap as the result of a fall on lava rock while backpacking 6 weeks ago. No longer painful at all. Intially putting weight on the leg while bent was quite painful and obviously kneeling on the area but not pain at all at this point. No discoloration.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a hematoma or bursa. Consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
