What Could Cause Drops Of Blood While Peeing After Taking Unwanted 72?

Dear Dr, My wife took unwanted 72 (a 72 hours protection pill) after 48 hours of intercourse. After 7 days of taking the medicine there are drops of bloods coming during urination / while going to toilet. It is continuing since past 7-8 days. What may be the possible reasons? I am basically a doctor and would like to have some satisfactory answer Dr P C Dash

Hi,

It's normal to have some bleed after emergency contraceptive. Emergency contraceptives can cause light spotting (non-menstrual bleeding). It is also common for the second cycle, and period, to be slightly longer after taking them.
