What Could Burning Sensation In Body Followed By Swollen Ankles And Lightheadedness Indicate?

2 days ago, I experienced a gradual burning sensation on my body, that lasted for about 40 mins. It was feverish to the touch and bright red. It happened again today, but was more intense, and I got so hot,it made me lightheaded. Today, it started in my face, and worked its way down to my ankles. It seamed like there was some swelling just above my ankles. Right now, it s like nothing happened.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The episode of feeling got and being red a sensation mainly in face and all over body may be related to hot flashes. I want to know your age because being around 50 and near menopause is the main cause of hot flashes. The swelling in ankles may not be related directly to this but possibly by long standing on feet. You can write me back for other details.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
