What Could Bleeding Post Intercourse With Pain During Having Sex Indicate?

Hi, im a 48 year old female, and this has been ongoing for a while now, i finished my period 2 days ago and had sex this morning and i bleed heavily after but not all day? Sometimes there is pain whilst having intercourse do you think i need to go and see my own GP as like i said this has been happening alot . Thankyou

HI,
I understand your concern.
- If you have the only episode of bleeding after post menstrual sex, it may not recur/ such bleeding,pain during sex can be pre menopausal symptom.
- bleeding & Pain after sex indicates genital infection/ cervical polyp/ cervical erosion or some times malignancy also
You should consult a gynecologist.to exclude these things. after internal examination you will be subjected to few investigations & will be given specific treatment as per need.
