We have a two-year-old with white/greyish area in center of tongue, moving outward. It s not really splotchy. He also just started drooling excessively about two days ago. He ate fine today, but hasn t really wanted anything in the last few days. He did have a fever last night, but it passed after he had baby ibuprofen. And he s been extremely irritable for the last few days. Is it serious?
Hi. As per your case history of white patch on tongue. My treatment advice is - 1. It is most likely to be associated with viral fever. 2. Give the child plenty of fluids and diet rich in vitamin c. 3. Start a multivitamin syrup like Zincovit 5ml twice daily. It will revert to normal in 2-3 weeks. If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
