What Could Be The Reason Of Weight Loss In 88 Year Old Who Rarely Sleeps ?

My mother is 88 years old. She does not have dementia , but she rarely sleeps and is losing weight at the rate of 2 pounds per month. She does not have cancer . What could be causing her weight loss?

Hi welcome to H.C.M.Forum. at this age usually they have psychological, neurological, or somatic problems which causes sleeplessness, leading to weight loss. so long she is happy don't bother about it. if you want you can give her mild sedative with the advise of a doctor thank you.
