What Could Be The Reason For Stomach Pain, Back Pain And Vomiting?

My nine year old complained that her upper back hurt just before going to bed. I applied wet heat to it, thinking that she may have strained it at some point during the day. She woke up a couple if hours later saying that her stomach hurt badly. She threw up. It was kind of thick. Didn't look like any traces of blood or anything. I really think she ate too much today. Could that be the cause? She's asleep now but, I'm wondering if I should wake her and take to the ER?

Hi,

Since she is sleeping after throwing up so you need not to worry at all, it might be related to overeating or food allergy. Once she gets up ask her to have lots of water, lemon water and fruit juices as well as ORS in order to counter dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. If she continues to throwing up and complains of back ache then you should take her to emergency care for physical examination and intravenous fluid.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask for follow up question and I will gladly answer you.

Best wishes,
