What Could Be The Cause For Pain At The Back Of The Head In A Dementia Patient?

Good evening, My client who has dementia was complaining about the back of her head. She said it was hurting. I examined the back of her head right side. I felt like a round minor puffed up bump. She explained she was alright so i left it alone. Then about a half hour she was complaining about the right side but up top side. I told her son we took blood pressure it was 162/101. She is 74 insisting she is fine.I am concerned. What should her son do.

Hello,

BP is high and needs to be controlled with suitable anti-hypertensives.In view of a bump, a local cold compress should be attempted to relieve pain. If necessary paracetamol orally would suffice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
