What Could Be Causing Cough?

Hi Doctor, I am 28 years old, male, 6.1, 90 Kgs, i have had cough now for 2 weeks. It all started with cough(only cough, not running or blocked nose). I used to cough for 10-20 sec non stop, and then will get slight amount of sputum. Then i started on Levofloxin ,cetrizine and Tusq( after consultation with the doctor), that made it worse, i got running and blocked nose that day itself, the cough reduced and sputum color became clearer. Then two days back, because of violent coughing i got chest pain on right side and my throat closed up hindering breathing. So i consulted a ENT specialist, who said this looks like Sinius related and after looking at my skull X rays said me to get a CT scan done. My question is, i know i have mild sinus issues for last 10 years, and i get this change of season cough/cold for 5-7 days and it goes. But i have never had something like this EVER. Should i get tested for whopping cough or i am just just being a little panicky.? Currently the ENT doctor has me on Doxcef-CV for ( 5 days, 2 times), Montek- LC( 10 days) and Nasal spary. I have never had Asthma, whezzing or any other related respiratory disease apart from cold and Sinus issues.

hi there, you seem to have been treated with lots of broad spectrum antibiotics and am sure any underlying infection or sinus issue would be resolved by now. I would suggest you to take an antihelmenthic like albendazole one tablet stat at night as sometimes worm infestations give rise to a condition called loffler's syndrom which presents with dry cough. Take care
