What Could A Sharp Stabbing Pain In Anus While Sitting Indicate?
I have noticed recently that when i sit on the chair arm and clench my butt i have a very sharp feeling and it hurts inside my asus. it feels like something is stabbing me from the inside. The harder I clench the worse it hurts. When i stand up again and clench my butt there is no pain. Im 38 years old, overweight at 23 stones, dont smoke and drink approx 18 units of alcohol per week.

from your history it might be beginning of anal fisssure. you did not give history about pain while defecating, that would have been helpful. anyway if thats the problem you have to change dietary habits to include more fibre rich diets, plenty of fluids. also take syp LOOZ 5tsp HS, ointment ANOVATE apply locally BD for 2 weeks.
if not relieved kindly consult with a surgeon.
