Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Yellow Discharge From Eyes In Methamphetamine Users?
How come when meth users smoke it they have yellow goop that comes out of their eyes, and it creates a thin layer of film that covers the eye. But that only happens when the smoke gets into the eye. And it only gets worse each time they smoke it or stays up for a certain mount of days. Why is all that? What chemical in side the drug that affects and irritate the eye?
In a non-meth user, it certainly would imply a sinus infection. These are common in anyone who smokes anything even fairly benign things like vaping or marijuana. It only appears DURING the meth use due to increased contracture of everything squeezing it out. It is generally a minor infection but it is better to get it treated with (outpatient, generally non-emergency) antibiotics.
