What Causes White Tissue Peeling Out At The Site Of Extracted Tooth?

I had an extraction 4 days ago. I have been very careful not to eat very much, to keep my mouth clean, and to rinse gently with the antimicrobial rinse my oral surgeon prescribed as directed. My extraction site feels great, and I do not smoke, but some white tissue just came out of the extraction site and I am concerned about dry socket. Was that tissue already healed tissue? I seem to be healing fast...my oral surgeon checked my other extraction, which needed a bone graft, yesterday, and he thought it looked awesome. I feel I am healing quite fast, and I feel great, but I am checking on the tissue that just came out of that upper area where there was no stitching and no bone graft as the ridge had good bone.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the white tissue that came out of the extraction socket seems to be most probably healing tissue only that is formed from remodelling from the blood clot that is formed in the socket after extraction..

I would therefore suggest you that in case if the white stuff has been dislodged from the socket completely and there is not healing tissue in the socket then you have to get dressings placed in the socket to initiate healing process as if the healing tissue is lost and no treatment is done then it will develop into Dry Socket and will become a painful condition..

So it will be better to get evaluated soon..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
