What Causes White Spot Growing On Wound Site Post Brain Tumor Removal?

hi, my daughter had a brain tumor removal about 2yrs ago, ever since the surgery the mri shows a bright white spot around where the removal was. the doctors were not worried until recently said they need to monitor that spot closely it has grown about 10% since the beginning they cant confirm what it is my daughter is only 4years old so they say it might be scar tissue that is growing as she grows is that possible?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, welcome to HCM. Yes i also agree with your doctor. Two things you can consider. First in any injury, there will be healing by scar. So this could be healing scar. Second because it is a tumour there could be chances of reappearing and size is increasing. But seeing the colour it is going more toward the fibrous tissue which is formed during healing. Please get further investigations with the aid of your doctor and come to diagnosis. We wish your daughter good health.
