The ribbon like matter is infact really tapeworm that are released once they are suffocated by the medication like albendazole. As far as experiencing itching inside your head , i would suggest to get a microscopic examination of stool sample so that it may be identified which tapeworm infestation you have as there are many types of adult tapeworm. We just need to be sure if it is not Taenia Solium tapeworm which may sometimes cause some serious problems. Therefore i suggest to get microscopic stool examination . If your problems increase then i suggest to visit an internal medicine specialist who will advise an MRI brain in order to be sure if everything is ok. Otherwise usually there is nothing to worry about and albendazole medication should be repeated after 2 weeks so that even the eggs that were left in the intestine and did not die initially will also die after they hatch.
