What Causes Wheezing In A Toddler?

Hello Doctor, My 3 year old son started having wheezing from yesterday night. Today when we took him to the doctor, they gave him nebulisation and prescribed some medicines as we were not in a state for admission ( i have another baby too). The medicines he prescribed were Salbutamol 4ml, thrice daily and Omnacortil 5Mg, 10ml to start with and then to reduce to 5ml. Could you please let me know if Omnacortil is safe for my son? I have a history of allergic asthma and my son has had episodes like this before but most of the times he quickly recovered after a nebulisation. But as per our doctor, one of his recent x ray results were not good as his lungs was inflated (due to repeated infections as suggested by our doc) and the size of his heart had shrinked a bit, and his liver has been pushed down. Could you please advise if this is something very serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your question and here is my advice.
Salbutamol and omnicort (corticosteroid) is the right treatment for asthmatic attacks.
Maybe he should take even antibiotics since you mentioned that the x-ray report was not good.
Continue the medications as prescribed by doctor in order to keep him in good state.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
