What Causes Wetness In Knee Post Knee Surgery?

Hi doctor, my mom recently got orthopedic surgery to replace her knee six days ago. She was sent home on the third day and continued to follow all instruction on care and exercise. However, she complains about a feeling of liquid or wetness in a certain part of her knee under the bandage. She says that it feels as if there is some fluid travelling from the wound and down the bandage. While changing the dressing we checked for liquid or pus or any other bodily fluid but there was none. We also checked her body temperature and it was 99 degrees which also insicated that there was no fever. Is there any idea of what this might be?
