What Causes Weird Taste In Mouth Along With Burps During Pregnancy?

I am two months pregnant and the last two weeks the taste has been getting worse in my mouth. Not a metallic taste but as if i omitted but i have not so far. I do burp a lot every day since i conceived. Could this be acid reflux or could this be caused by my increase in cheese and dairy except im lactose intolerant for milk so i dont drink milk

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, There are several things that could be going on. First the hormonal changes of pregnancy can cause some people to have changes in their sense of taste and smell. Also the gas and burping can be coming from the cheese as some people with lactose intolerance do get gas symptoms from cheese as well as from milk. Yogurt may be better tolerated. You can also try a lactase supplement when you eat dairy products. it is safe in pregnancy and may help with the gas and burping.
Have a great pregnancy,
Dr. Robinson
