What Causes Weird Feeling In Chest Along With Elevated BP And Headaches?

I am a 52 year old women 5 4 and 107 pounds. 10 days ago I got these feelings in my chest like my heart is quivering in my chest. I can feel extra beats. My blood pressure goes up when this starts which I believe is causing my head ache. As soon as the episode ends my blood pressure goes back down and headache goes away. Blood pressures range between 170s over 110s to 150s over 100s while this is going on, when I left ER my blood pressure was 104/70. I went to ER on Monday after it happening for eight days off and on. The episodes last any were from a couple hours to eight or ten hours and then out of no where it just stops. Of course after staying in hospital for twenty four hours the episode never happened. I was told that I have extra heart beats. My cardiologist sent me to his office to have a thirty day monitor put on which I have on now. I was told to push button when I feel something happening but the episode lasts for hours so every couple hours I push the button so he gets a thirty second strip. I just spoke to him after he looked at yesterdays strips and all he said was I have extra beats and right now he doesn t want to change anything. I tried to explain that this is happening for hours and he just says push the button when I feel anything. (I do not have strips.) My questions are: Do I just continue to push button over and over for hours? (When I asked him that question he repeated that I am suppose to push button when I feel something) Do you have any idea what may be happening?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
dear hcm user.i understand that you are suffering from some form of arrythmias, where your heart beats go irregular and to very levels. your cardiologist wants to confirm the diagnosis by recording the ecg whenever you get these attacks.whenever you get these extra heart beats push the button and get record the ecg,you dont have to continue to push button every hour but push it every 2-3 hrs to notice any changes from previous recordings.this helps in identifying the exact type of arythmia so that appropriate teatment can be started
