What Causes Weight Loss And Sleeplessness When Diagnosed With Parkinson S Disease?

Hello, I am a 55 year old man with Parkinsons Disease. I have been for the past 6 weeks experiencing a 25 lbs weight loss that I never tried to lose. I have been experiencing lack of sleep and heavy sweating that soaks my undergarments both day and night.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sleep disorders common in Parkinsonism patients may be due to drug induced day time sleepiness and night time insomnia and sweating may be due to autonomic neuropathy or hypotension. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your neurophysician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
