What Causes Weakness In The Legs While Suffering From Rheumatoid Arthritis?

Hi. I was diagnosed with RA 5 years ago. I occassionally have spells of extreme weakness in my legs. One time I wasn t able to stand. I waited about 60secs and then I was ok. Sometimes I ll just be walking and I will fall. That same weakness. Is it the RA?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

RA and any other chronic disease, particularly if severe can cause some level of weakness but you should still rule out other causes if possible.

This degree of weakness should be associated with significant pain in the joints if it was related solely to the RA.

You should consider seeing your doctor for an assessment.

I hope this helps
