What Causes Weakness During Pregnancy After Taking Prenatal Supplements?

my wife on her 2nd p.gency take 3 tablet {gestrinol} daily starting from concive.she also take folison,{iron}caldil plus{calcium}&vitamin.her problem is she fell uneasy week and fell odd.is their any side effect of medicine.her p.gency is now 30 weeks.pl.reply.

HI,
I understand your concern.
All the medicines your wife is taking are for pregnancy support & nutritional supplements. All of them must have been advised by her treating doctor after examining her- Actually none of then can lead to weakness.
Only possibilities I can think are medicines taken at a time on empty stomach may cause gastric irritation,nausea & weakness . To avoid this she should - take -
* Calcium & folic acid pill after her breakfast& milk.
Take Iron pill with her lunch
Vitamin pill after her dinner.
Gestrinol has to be taken 8 hourly with either of above medicines/ with some light snack/milk.
An antacid/ proton pump inhibitor like Ranitidine would help easy digestion of the drugs.
* Get your wife's pregnancy profle checked to exclude any other cause of weakness.To be followed by needful treatment.
