What Causes Weak Pulses Of About 70 While Laying Down?

Hi. I m trying to fall asleep right now, but I feel like my pulse is very weak. I m afraid to sleep, because when I get up and walk around, it goes back to normal. But when I lay down and start to fall asleep, it gets really light, and I feel like I m passing out rather than falling asleep. My pulse is about 70 at any given point.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

After going through your medical details I understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that your heart rate is pretty normal which doesn't require any evaluation if you don't have any symptoms of fainting or near fainting.

Heart rate is ever changing phenomena which depends on your activity level, emotions and physical factors. Heart rate generally stays at lower side during sleeping hours which again don't require any evaluation.

It's recommended for you to get an ECG, echocardiography and a Holter (ambulatory ECG) to make sure you are not suffering from any arrhythmic disorder.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
