What Causes Watery Vaginal Discharge During 39th Week Of Pregnancy?

I am 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant. For the past 2 days I have been leaking a clear, odorless fluid that has tested negative for amniotic fluid. My midwife says its mucous or the mucous plug, but there is NO mucous to this substance, it is basically water. What is it? Should I worry? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If the fluid is not amniotic fluid then it is not to be feared. And there should not be pain or itching present. If the pain or itching is present then you need gynecologist visit. Otherwise, take rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi , General & Family Physician
