What Causes Watery Eyes Along With Tenderness At The Eye Corner?

I am having watery eyes & tenderness at the inside corner of my eye. Called my eye doc before I left town & he gave me antibiotic drops in case it was an infected tear duct. But that didn t help. I have a Z pack with me & started that on Friday, but not really much better. Seems to be causing a lot of pressure from along that side of my nose & up to above my eye. Sinus area? I don t know. Am flying to England on Tues & need to know what kind of doc I should try to get in with tomorrow. ENT?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It might be best to see an eye doctor first. Blocked tear ducts are most of the times treated with antibiotic ointment and massage to open the duct. If this does not help enough then some treatment with a balloon that blows air there might help to unblock it. If these do not help enough then surgery is needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
